What moves the price
- Efficiency: high-efficiency (90%+ AFUE) condensing furnaces need PVC venting and a condensate drain. A switch from an 80% unit can add venting work.
- Fuel: gas, propane, oil and electric units are priced differently.
- Size and staging: two-stage or modulating units cost more than single-stage.
- Extras: permits, gas line work, thermostat, haul-away.

They are not HVAC Quote Check data, and different sources measure different things (equipment only vs. installed, existing ducts vs. new, national vs. marketplace quotes).
